Our Mission and Goals

Covenant Preschool and Childcare was founded in 1975 as a community outreach of the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant.  The school provides a developmentally appropriate, child-centered learning environment with Christian nurture, and strives to develop the whole child--socially, emotionally, intellectually, physically and spiritually.  We provide an atmosphere for learning in which the following goals are pursued:

  • an awareness of God's love for each person, especially as expressed through Jesus Christ

  • an enjoyment of learning

  • a feeling of accomplishment

  • a sense of personal worth

  • a regard for the rights of others

  • the ability to express self verbally and through creative means

  • the ability to develop methods for solving one's own problems

  • the ability to work alone and within a group

  • the ability to take care of bodily needs and the physical environment

  • an awareness of a larger world beyond one's self (community, nature, the arts, etc.)
