Our Mission and Goals
Covenant Preschool and Childcare was founded in 1975 as a community outreach of the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. The school provides a developmentally appropriate, child-centered learning environment with Christian nurture, and strives to develop the whole child--socially, emotionally, intellectually, physically and spiritually. We provide an atmosphere for learning in which the following goals are pursued:
- an awareness of God's love for each person, especially as expressed through Jesus Christ
- an enjoyment of learning
- a feeling of accomplishment
- a sense of personal worth
- a regard for the rights of others
- the ability to express self verbally and through creative means
- the ability to develop methods for solving one's own problems
- the ability to work alone and within a group
- the ability to take care of bodily needs and the physical environment
- an awareness of a larger world beyond one's self (community, nature, the arts, etc.)
